Take a Stand with Dave Matthews for Elephants
Musician Dave Matthews, along with organizations like Conservation International, took a stand for elephants and for the communities protecting them in this powerful campaign in 2018. I am honored to have made a film with Dave at the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Kenya, the very first community-owned and elephant sanctuary in all of Africa. Watch the film of Dave and his incredible song “Mother of Africa.”
The campaign included a contest to raise money for elephant conservation. Entrants received a chance to win a 7-day luxury safari in Kenya to visit Reteti, Sarara Camp and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a trip to see Dave at the final concert of his 2018 tour at the Hollywood Bowl AND receive a beautiful Rockbridge Guitar with a custom inlay of an elephant hand-drawn by Dave AND a D7500 18-300mm VR Lens Kit. The first $10,000 in funds raised were generously matched by Elephant Gems.
If you attended one of Dave’s 47 concerts in summer 2018, I hope you got a chance to check out the exhibition of my images from Reteti and Ol Pejeta!
The film was also screened at the NY Wild Film Festival in 2018. This festival is the first annual documentary film festival in New York to showcase a spectrum of topics, from exploration and adventure to wildlife, conservation and the environment, bringing all things wild to one of the most urban cities in the world.
